José A. Brandariz is a professor of criminal law and criminology at the University of A Coruna, Spain. He was an associate editor of the European Journal of Criminology and a member of the executive board of the European Society of Criminology. Deeply involved in cross-national academic conversations, Prof. Brandariz have been visiting professor and visiting research fellow at numerous international universities, in Argentina, Chile, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal and the USA. Prof. Brandariz has mainly focused his research on border criminology, political economy of punishment, and managerial penality issues in the recent past.
